For those of you just joining us, here’s a quick summary of what the Make Glee, Not Hate Weekender 2012 is all about:

This weekend, 16-17 June 2012, is dedicated to anonymous love rather than anonymous hate.  There’s been too much of it in fandom lately, and rather than fight fire with fire, let’s just draw a line beneath it and spread some love instead.  Who’s with us?

Events are to include:

The Anon!Love Challenge: First, and most importantly of all, we challenge you to anonymously send love to as many people as you can.  Flood as many Ask/Fanmail boxes as you can with kisses, hearts, compliments, whatever you want—as long as it’s anonymous, and as long as it’s riddled with positivity.  If the person you want to send a message to has their anon turned off, no problem!  We’ll have ours switched on, so just send us your message anonymously, let us know who the message is for, and we’ll post it and tag them so that they don’t miss out.

The Comment Fest Challenge: Make a point of heading over to stories, art, fanmixes—ANY and ALL fanworks you’ve loved and like, comment, reblog!  Us artistic types love to hear your feedback, and it’s never too late to let us in on your lovely thoughts, even if the fanworks in question are from months or even years ago!  Furthermore, exclusively to LiveJournal, there’ll be an anonymous love meme hosted at dazzleboxes!  Watch this space…

The Drabble Dedication Challenge: Anonymously write a drabble, 200 words or less, centered around love, friendship, and/or joy, and dedicate it!  This can be to one person, a group of people, fandom in general, or just something you want to write to contribute to our big ol’ lovefest.  Submit your drabbles to us and we will post them anonymously on your behalf.  Again, just let us know who it’s for and we’ll tag them to make sure they don’t miss it!

The “Love Blinders” Challenge: They say love is blind—I say, LET US BE BLIND!  This weekend, don your “love blinders”—not only are we going to be sharing the love, we’re going to be turning a love-blind eye to anything that is negative, or malicious, or anything BUT love.  (Quoted, of course, from the wonderful iconicklaine.)
